The Royal Irish Fusiliers - 2nd Battalion
Stationed in Malta 1939 - June 43
The 2nd Battalion was formed in 1939 &
was stationed in Malta until 1943 where they were sent to Greece to fight in
the Dodecanese Islands (Leros).
During heavy fighting in this expedition the Battalion was virtually wiped out.
They were reformed in 1944.
